2021-2022 Season Soloist - The Barber of Seville

Praised for her “exceptionally beautiful mezzo,” Iowa native Laura Krumm is a recent graduate of the prestigious Adler Fellowship at the San Francisco Opera. The 2021-2022 season sees her return to The Metropolitan Opera as the cover of Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro, her debut with Sacramento Philharmonic and Opera as Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia, and Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony with the Reno Philharmonic. Last season’s engagements included Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia with San Francisco Opera in addition to cancelled productions of The Handmaid’s Tale with San Francisco Opera and Roméo et Juliette and Rusalka with The Metropolitan Opera. Ms. Krumm’s 2019-2020 season saw her return to the Metropolitan Opera as Javotte in Manon and the cover of Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro and a debut with the Santa Rosa Symphony for Mozart’s Requiem. Her 2018-2019 season included Lola in Cavalleria rusticana and the Kitchen Boy in Rusalka, both with San Francisco Opera as well as covering Annino in La clemenza di Tito with the Metropolitan Opera. In recent seasons, Laura returned to San Francisco Opera for several projects including Javotte in Vincent Boussard’s production of Manon, Siegrune in Francesca Zambello’s production of Die Walküre, and the cover of Angelina in La Cenerentola, which she also covered with Lyric Opera of Chicago.
