Sacramento State University Chorale

The University Chorale is the premier choral ensemble at California State University, Sacramento. Comprising undergraduate and graduate singers from across the university, the ensemble is known for its musical excellence, stylistic versatility, and expressive performance of major works from the choral repertoire alongside contemporary music.

Under the direction of Dr. Brett A. Judson, the University Chorale has presented large-scale choral–orchestral and collaborative projects, such as Duruflé’s Requiem. The ensemble has also partnered with regional organizations such as the Auburn Symphony, notably in performances of Mahler’s Symphony No. 2, and regularly collaborates with Sacramento State’s orchestral and instrumental programs. In addition to established repertoire, the Chorale is actively engaged in the premiere of new works, including performances of music by Dr. Scott Perkins at the Festival of New American Music, one of the nation’s longest-running festivals dedicated to contemporary American music. Through these performances, the University Chorale contributes actively to the cultural life of the Sacramento region while providing rigorous artistic training for emerging musicians.
