Tweet Seats! Sacramento Philharmonic & Opera to Initiate Live Tweeting at Performances

Sacramento, Ca (Oct. 6, 2015) The Sacramento Philharmonic & Opera announces Tweet Seats, an exciting new initiative that brings the reach of social media to the art of classical music with live tweeting during performances. The first live tweeting will take place October 17th at the Community Center Theater, when 18-year old violin virtuoso Simone Porter plays the lyrical and dazzling, Bruch Violin Concerto No. 1.

“We want to be unique and be able to reach as wide an audience as we can,” said Alice Sauro, executive director of the Sacramento Philharmonic & Opera. “Today’s world demands using every available tool to secure classical music as an integral part of our community. Social media is fast, interactive, and makes us accessible to the voices of our younger viewers.”

To roll out this new marketing initiative, the Sacramento Philharmonic & Opera is inviting fluent and frequent Tweeters to apply online at Sacphilopera.org. Patrons will get a very individual, first-person perspective from local voices who love Twitter.
