Israeli- Portuguese -American mezzo-soprano, MAYA YAHAV GOUR, is quickly establishing herself as an international artist of great versatility and talent. In her 2019-20 season, Maya will make her debut with Seattle Opera as Tisbe in Rossini’s La Cenerentola and join Teatro Nuovo as a Resident Artist to cover Pippo in Rossini’s La Gazz Ladra under the baton of Maestro Will Crutchfield.
Maya’s 2017–18 season included multiple role debuts as Hänsel (Hänsel und Gretel) with the Savannah Voice Festival and Lucretia (The Rape of Lucretia) at the Oslo Opera House. She was an Apprentice Artist with Sarasota Opera after performing Lucette (Cendrillon) with Music Academy International’s Trentino Music Featival in Italy.
In her 2016-2017 season, Maya made her debut at Opera in Williamsburg as Angelina (La Cenerentola) and The Stewardess in Jonathan Dove’s Flight with Opera Parallèle. She was also a Fellow Artist at the Ravinia Festival and a Young Artist at the Gstaad Menuhin Festival in Switzerland under the direction of Cecilia Bartoli.
